Jeff

Jeff Walker is a very simple, down-to-earth man. He loves his daughter dearly, but he also loves his wife Kelly-Ann. He secretly feels very guilty for the death of his first wife, Maria, as he was driving when they were hit. He was a somewhat reckless driver and made a left turn that was cutting it a bit too close. When he met Kelly-Ann she comforted him in a way no one else had been able to and he married her the next year. He was upset and confused by the hatred his new wife and his daughter felt for each other, not sure who to believe.
When Kelly-Ann suggested Arianna move to Florida, and Arianna seemed to agree, he also agreed to it. Arianna called once a month in order to check in and reassure her parents that she was alright, but Kelly-Ann usually took the calls. Jeff did not know about Adam or the cruise until the hospital contacted him to tell him of Arianna's case. Kelly-Ann then told him that Arianna had gone on a cruise and he tried desperately to contact his daughter. He tracked the cruise until the wreck and communication was lost. When told that it was believed no one had survived he was heartbroken and again, blamed himself for his daughter's death.
Kelly-Ann, distressed by her husband's grief, suggested they take a plane to the port where the ship was supposed to dock and see if they could find anything out about Arianna. When the plane crashed on the island where Arianna was living, Jeff was overjoyed to find his daughter not only alive but even thriving. He felt a cordial respect for Daniel, was thrilled that he now had grandtwins and made shameless efforts to hold them. Taking Daniel's word that Klaus was no good and had hurt Arianna, he felt a suspicious dislike that was close to hatred for the other man.
A good friend, somewhat irresponsible but loving father, and doting grandfather, he is loyal and protective, determined to make up for his past mistakes by protecting his family no matter what. Very simple and straightforward, he dislikes anyone who hurt those he cares about. Very strong, he's someone you'd want on your side in a fight.

Kelly-Ann

Kelly-Ann is a minx, plain and simple. Vindictive, spiteful, gauche, and quite willing to hit below the beltline, she does have a good side if you can find it. When she was younger she had a fling with Michael Salvatore, which resulted in a baby they named Kol. Kelly-Ann was unable to care for the little boy and sadly left him on an orphanage step, hoping he would be cared for and adopted. Much later on, she met and fell in love with recently widowed Jeff Walker. She married him but hated his daughter Arianna with a Snow-White-Stepmother hatred, banishing her stepdaughter to Florida. To be fair Arianna always resented her stepmother and didn't exactly try to welcome her.
Kelly-Ann did and does truly love Jeff and was very unhappy at his grief upon hearing that the ship Arianna was on had wrecked. She suggested they take a plane to the Caribbean and try to find out if Arianna had survived. Ironically the plane crashed on the very island where the ship wrecked, and Jeff was reunited with his daughter. After finding out that Arianna was now married and a mother, Kelly-Ann reluctantly and tacitly conceded that Arianna wasn't the spoiled brat she had been in South Carolina, and the two operated as untrusting allies. Kelly-Ann learned that a man named Michael was responsible for most the pain and suffering the wrecked survivors had experienced on the island but didn't make the connection between him and her former fling.

Alan

Alan is a good, straight-shooting guy. After his parents died he went to live with his adult sister and her husband. Once he turned eighteen he gave his sister a goodbye kiss, her husband a handshake, and set off to make a life for himself. He decided to go out to the Caribbean and see what he could pick up down there, beside malaria. He's tough, over protective, very caring, is the proprietor of a sense of humour, and would die for the ones he loves. He does hold grudges, however, and if you hurt someone he cares about, even to help them, you've lost his friendship, probably forever. (cough *Elijah*cough*Arianna*cough) He's completely devoted to Alex and would do anything she wanted.

Arianna

Arianna is a neurotic, insecure, bossy, manipulative, sweet-natured, shy but mischievous and stubborn girl. She was very attached to her mother and feels partly responsible for her death - it was a car accident, her mother knew they were about to be hit and instead of unbuckling her seat belt and twisting out the way, she turned to make sure Arianna wouldn't be hurt. Two years later Jeff Walker (Arianna's father) remarried a woman who hated Arianna, and the feeling was mutual. Kelly-Ann sent Arianna to live in the family's rental house in Florida.
It was in Florida that Arianna got her first boyfriend, who cheated on her, ditched her, and then later, in a drunken rage, attacked her with a knife. Shocked, horrified, and bleeding from her side, she drove herself to the hospital where she was treated for her wound, emotional instability, and mental instability. She became friendly with one of the nurses who suggested she go for a cruise to get her mind off of it all. Arianna took her advice and the rest is, as they say, history.
As well as mental and emotional issues, Arianna's health isn't in tip top form either. She's had a condition since birth that is, as far as anyone knows, unique, and completely mystifies all the doctors she's seen. She takes medicine for it which treats the symptoms and keeps her alive. When she ran out after the wreck she did her best to replace it with herbal treatments, but they weren't strong enough and she nearly died.
Arianna was also well versed in herbal treatments, interested in it for awhile she read about it obsessively before becoming a midwife apprentice. She can be a bit overly sure of herself, leading to conflicts.

Aiden

Aiden was a street fighter from the time a very young age. Homeless at six years old, he soon learned fighting techniques the hard way. Strong, determined, and with the flame of the will to survive, he soon made himself ruler of his little territory, taking down even guys larger than he was, able to take on five mediocre fighters at once, and fiercely clever. He soon learned to hide any weakness, denying and destroying them.
One day he saw a guy attacking a girl, and lit into him. The man died from his ensuing injuries, and Aiden was put on the wanted list. Fleeing, he hitchhiked and trainhopped to the deep South, eventually ending up in Florida. He stowed away aboard a cruise ship heading out to the Caribbean to escape the police.
He's very rough and tough, not one to be messed with, but deep inside he has a very caring heart. If once you get inside and he cares about you, there's no one more loyal or protective. He's very knife-happy but would never injure or harm a girl...Katherine excepted. If someone he cares about dies, he's practically crippled and when Olivia died he couldn't think of anything but joining her.
